What are Taxes and Fees?

Modified on Wed, 23 Jul, 2025 at 2:06 PM

You can define different types of charges applicable to your bookings:

  • VAT (KDV)— percentage-based value-added tax

  • Service Fee / Booking Fee — fixed or percentage-based extra costs

  • Custom Fees — any regional or operational surcharge

How to Add a New Tax or Fee

  1. Go to Settings > Taxes and Fees

  2. Click the purple button “Add new tax and fee”

  3. Select the Type:

    • Tax (e.g., VAT, KDV)

    • Fee (e.g., Booking Fee, Service Fee)

  4. Enter the Title (e.g., “VAT”, “Booking Fee”)

  5. Enter the Value (e.g., 20%, 10 USD)

  6. Choose whether the value is:

    • Compound: should it be added on top of other taxes?

    • Inclusive/Exclusive: is this fee included in product price?

  7. Click Add Item to save.

You can add multiple taxes and fees, each with its own logic.

How to Edit or Delete a Tax/Fee

  • Click Action > Update to modify

  • Click Action > Delete to remove

  • Only active fees affect product prices

Applying to Specific Products / Regions

Currently, fees apply platform-wide, but can be:

  • Labeled accordingly (e.g., “Green Tax EU Only”)

  • Adjusted manually in product pricing

  • Set by currency and country

Use the “Include in price” toggle to display fees as embedded or added on top.

Notes

  • Compound taxes are calculated over already taxed amounts.

  • Make sure your fee names are clear to avoid confusion for clients.

Double-check values for different regions (TR, EU, RU) to ensure compliance.
