FAQ – Taxes and Fees

1. What are Taxes and Fees on the Tourzone platform?

Taxes and Fees are additional charges that apply to tour prices. They include:

• VAT (KDV) – percentage-based value-added tax
  
  

• Booking/Service Fee – fixed or percentage-based fee
  
  

• Custom Fee – any other regional or operational surcharge
  
  

2. Where can I add a new tax or fee?

Go to Settings → Taxes and Fees, then click the “Add new tax and fee” button.

3. What types of charges can I add?

You can choose from:

• Tax – e.g., VAT, KDV
  
  

• Fee – e.g., Booking Fee, Service Fee
  
  

• Custom Fee – region-specific or operational fees
  
  

4. What does “Compound” mean?

A Compound tax or fee is calculated on top of other taxes.
 Example:

• Base price: 100 USD
  
  

• VAT 20%: +20 USD
  
  

• Compound Fee 10%: applies to 120 USD → +12 USD
  
  

5. What is Inclusive vs. Exclusive?

• Inclusive – the tax/fee is included in the product price
  
  

• Exclusive – the tax/fee is added on top of the product price
  
  

6. Example of final price with taxes and fees:

• Base price: 100 USD
  
  

• VAT (20%): +20 USD
  
  

• Booking Fee: +10 USD
  
  

• Total: 130 USD
  
  

7. Can I set different fees for different regions?

Currently, taxes and fees apply platform-wide, but you can:

• Label them (e.g., “Green Tax – EU Only”)
  
  

• Manually adjust prices per region
  
  

• Use currency as a country reference
  
  

8. How can I edit or delete a tax or fee?

1. Go to Settings → Taxes and Fees
   
   

2. Click Action next to the item
   
   

3. Choose Update or Delete
   
   

Only active fees affect product prices.

9. Can I add multiple taxes and fees?

Yes, you can create multiple rules, each with its own logic, value, and name.

10. Does the order of taxes affect calculation?

Yes. Compound taxes are applied after the base taxes, which may impact the total.

11. What values can I use for fees?

• Percent: e.g., 10%, 18%, 20%
  
  

• Fixed: e.g., 10 USD, 5 EUR, 200 TRY
  
  

12. Will fees appear on customer vouchers?

• Inclusive fees are embedded in the total price
  
  

• Exclusive fees appear as a separate line on the voucher
  
  

13. How to manage different tax rates per country?

• Create region-specific fees (e.g., VAT Turkey, VAT EU)
  
  

• Use clear labels
  
  

• Ensure compliance with local regulations
  
  

14. What if I entered a wrong fee?

You can:

• Edit the item via Action > Update
  
  

• Delete and re-create it
  
  

15. Is there a limit to how many fees I can create?

No limit – you can add as many as you need.

16. Can I temporarily disable a fee?

Simply delete or exclude it from product pricing manually.
